DCW Group Surveys Local Businesses About HR, Benefits Amid Healthcare Reform Debate

BOARDMAN, Ohio (April 6, 2017) – DCW Group, a local employee benefits consultant, has launched a survey among Mahoning Valley businesses to gauge the impact of the Affordable Care Act.

Business owners and human resources professionals are encouraged to take the 5-10 minute online survey, found at dcwgrp.com/survey before June 1, 2017. Results will be aggregated and shared among survey participants later this year.

“We’re essentially taking a snapshot of the Mahoning Valley marketplace in HR and employer benefits so that we can see what’s happened as a result of the Affordable Care Act, and assess how local businesses can plan for moving forward under healthcare reform,” said Bob Gearhart, Jr., DCW partner.

Similar surveys have been done in larger markets around the Mahoning Valley, but they don’t accurately reflect the business environment in the Mahoning Valley, Gearhart said.

“Healthcare reform has been and will remain in the headlines,” Gearhart said. “Cutting through the conjecture and focusing on what is actually occurring in our market will allow employers to reaffirm their decisions and stay competitive into the future.

State Sen. Joe Schiavoni (D-Boardman) encourages local businesses to participate.

“Feedback directly from employers and human resources professionals is the best way to get a pulse on what our businesses are doing well and what they can improve upon in the Mahoning Valley,” Schiavoni said.
